Hello guys, I need someone's help please as I'm losing my patience with whatsapp. My daughter is currently working in Dubai and I been trying to send a recorded whatsapp msg to her, but it keeps failing. She is able to send me her recorded msg and I'm able to listen to them but when I send my recoded msg, she just receives a msg of 0.01 secs long and nothing that I have recorded. I am pressing the green mic button and speak into the mic; I can see the red mic flashing in the left hand corner of my screen and the seconds counting, but when I let go of the green button, (which I understand will send the msg) it tells me that msg is sent but my daughter receives the 0.01 sec msg, So something is going through to her phone but not the recorded msg. Does anyone please tell me what may be going wrong and how to put it right. I'd be grateful for any help as it's the only way I can communicate with her - apparently whatsapp calls do not work in Dubai. I can use Zoom but this is not as convenient. (if I can get whatsapp to work)

Have you tried recording the message to your phone and then sending it as a Whattsapp attachment ? Not perfect but it might help whist you get it working properly.1

1. what are you using (android, iphone, whatever)
2. Does your whatsapp app have permission to use the microphone and/or storage?
There are also a few things you can try here:

KM1500 - My phone is a Nokia 5 using Andoid 9 ( I think) and yes - whatsapp does have permission to use the mic and storage. I looked at your helpful link and there are some excellent suggestions to resolve the issue. I shall try again this evening when I'm able to do some more tests with my friend's phone.
However, this sounds like a common/known problem with whatsapp. It may be interesting to know if other whatsapp users have a similar issue0
