You don’t need to read the meter. Your SEG payer reads it automatically.AdeMKent said:I am generating more electricity than I use. Does anyone know how I read my Honeywell Elster AS302P to get my output meter reading so I can start to apply?
To get SEG, you will need to provide the MCS Certificate and DNO approval/sign off for your system. Armed with this information, your chosen SEG payer will apply to your DNO for a separate export MPAN. It will then be able to read your meter. The process can take a few weeks.

Welcome to the forum.I'm not familiar with your particular meter but I would expect there to be an export register visible via the menu system.Does this help at all (it doesn't mention the export register but it should be in the menu structure somewhere):

After yet more googling I have found the answer on Terence Eden's Blog. I still don't know why my supplier needs this reading anyway as they can get it direct from my smart meter. I think they are just trying to make it difficult to apply for SEG.

Are you aware that you don't have to have your SEG payments from the same company that supplies your electricity?Barnsley, South Yorkshire

I think they are just trying to make it difficult to apply for SEG.Can't speak for your supplier, but Octopus asked me for a meter reading when setting up my export account. When I clicked the link to do so, it just went to the account page with no option to enter a read and a notice saying they were going to connect to my smart meter.(I was hoping I could cheekily enter 0 so I got paid for everything I've exported, but instead the first 15 or so units are just a gift to the grid I suppose.)Basically, they just recycle the same script for a new export account as they do for someone transferring an import account over from another supplier.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day).
