    You clearly don't mean to give the impression that they reduced the rate FOR YOU on the account you applied for whilst you were transferring funds?

    If you mean they reduced the offered rate while you were still waiting for account details, and you think that won't happen with High street banks, think again: Check the Santander threads - 2.75% has been reduced at a stroke to 2.0%... while people are still waiting for their log ins... then they did it again... it's now 1.5% and people are still waiting for login details for the 2.75% rate!!
