I’ve been a member of Audible for many years. Part of the membership included being able to return books whether you paid by credit card or credits from the membership - so it meant if you didn’t like a book you could return it and have money credited back. 
They do a daily deal usually £1.99 or £2.99 - these are a fair bit cheaper than credits are worth so I used credit card to pay for them.
LAST WEEK HOWEVER- I tried to return a couple of books and was told I couldn’t return them as they’d been bought on credit card. 
I was going to copy and paste the email I received but it wont allow me copy and paste it!!
The gist of it is that they changed the rules on 22 October 2022.  I actually renewed my yearly membership in September which was well before the ‘ change of rules’ so they’ve broken their contract with me - any others who’ve had same thing happen?


  • Interesting. I use audible though I tend to stick to using my paid credits and the free library. I have bought in the past though and you’re right about being able to return regardless of how you paid because I’ve done it. 

    Sorry I can’t help much but I’d suggest you complain to them direct noting the T&Cs when you joined if they support you. I’d hope a large company like that would be reasonable if you explain the issue reasonably.
