Amazon payment problem

Every time I preorder something on Amazon - books for my kindle - when it is released I get an email to say I need to log on to Amazon on a desktop and re verify my card. 

The same card that I used only the day before to buy something!
First world problems I know, but if anyone knows a way round this, I’d be very grateful.

A couple of things I can think of...

Does your account address match the address the card is registered to?

Is this your default card or do you possibly have another as default that has expired?

It sounds like something between Amazon and card company is triggering it as something new.

I'd go into account details and have a look at cards registered and addresses.

The addresses match, but I do have two cards ‘attached’ to my account. I’ll try removing one, though they are both valid.

I’ve got an iPhone and I can’t buy books on the Amazon app on my phone, I usually buy/order direct off my kindle. 

I’m not ever so technologically proficient mind you 😂
