Nelski - saw this and thought of you! https://www.fane.co.uk/james-martin A free streaming of a talk he's giving on Friday.Wicked Lady - I always hated those wee trainer socks for some reason, I know it's odd. My socks are not good enough to give to a CS but if I can find a textiles box I'll stuff them in there. Many years ago my friend Alan and I were driving down to London when we decided, on a whim, to take a detour to see Chatsworth House. It was much longer off the motorway than we anticipated and when we arrived it was shut.
We're yet to go back.
Bella - I hope that the little one is soon on the mend again, she's really being put through the wringer. A new car sounds exciting, what are you getting?

Morning. My car is supposed to be picked up today to go for repair so hopefully there'll be a courtesy car. I got up especially early to be ready in case they were prompt. They were not...so far...Ah well, gave me more time for tea. DIY jobs done yesterday along with a bit of extra, now today is going to be sort out rest of tools. I've decided I'm going to have to make my own christmas pudding. I like them with lots of nuts but I can't seem to find any like that [sainsburys used to do it but now they don't] so a mash up recipe is on the cards for the end of the week. OHs mums for tea tonight, we collude in when we go now. She tells me roughly when, I present OH with a choice of this day or that day, I tell her, everyone is happy....
Lots to do today including categorise some records for selling [found my box of them under the stairs] so off i go...
TA, congrats to your DD, hope her week goes well. Gers, great idea, it would save the carrier bags. Scarlet, sorry the news hadn't filtered, must have been upsetting. WL, wb, sounds like a lovely time was had. I do lova a country house spruced up for Christmas. Good luck with the hat. Take care unwell people, take care well people...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9 -
Morning all, the weather is ditto to yesterday...... and the day before etc. it's getting boring now. I'd like just one dry sunny day please.
I didn't get much done yesterday as I felt unenthusiastic for anything all day, I couldn't even settle to watch a TV programme all the way through 😟 So today I have a long "to do" list to work through and then think about tea as there's still some leftover chicken to use up. I also need to get some ideas for a feature wall in the bedroom, that could take some time as I have no clue as to what I want!
I haven't started on any presents for xmas, I've got as far as making a list for the food I want to buy, oh and I buying my xmas cards 🤣 Whoo-Hoo go me!!
dp1 hugs to the little one, DGS always suffered with tonsilitis until they took them out when he was 6.
TA good luck to your DD for her new job today.
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones or anyone suffering with daily difficulties.

Hi everyone,
It's been a full on morning so far, up to take Steve to golf, then I walked Esben to nursery - we usually drive him because it's a bit of a way - but he wanted to be super speedy in his super-hero cape. I took the buggy and he got in it for the last stretch.
I've got a chicken carcase to put in for stock now, we had a roast last night and I want to use the leftover meat in a risotto.
I also want to do some sewing on Nate's quilt, it has been stalled for a while because I seem to have had no time. I recently read an article by a crafter who had twins who said that she used every spare couple of minutes to sew so I am trying to take a leaf out of her book. Mind you, she also said that she sells wall hangings for £750.00 which rather took my breath away, I can't imagine paying that sort of money.
Have a good day.9 -
