Morning again, it doesn't seem as cold this morning, the forecast isn't too bad for the next few days.
Went to the book club yesterday, it was pleasant enough. I hope this month's book is better than the one I've just returned yesterday, I didn't enjoy it at all. Quite a few members didn't know that my friend had passed away a couple of weeks ago (she was a member as well)
We went to a shopping outlet yesterday afternoon, I wanted to go to the M&S store there, but they didn't have much in the long sleeved t shirt line, I bought one but would have liked a couple more. I did buy some thermal underwear though, that'll be handy now we aren't having the heating on as much.
It's our residents association meeting this morning. I'm standing down from the secretary job after the December meeting, I've done it for 12 years, and it's someone else's turn I think!
Not much else happening except for the usual Tuesday quiz tonight.
Izzy I was impressed to see that you've finished your Christmas shopping! I'm a bit behind this year, but I'll get there.
Thinking of our poorly and fed up people today, and hope everyone has as good a day as they can.
It's milder here too Scarlet though there's still horrendous rain with more due. Early this morning the stars were twinkling away in the bright moonshine, it was a riveting sight.
Yesterday I eventually tackled the newspaper pile and tamed it. That inspired me to light the woodburner quite late in the afternoon and toasted myself for the rest of the day. It's odd how my feet were still cold until I lifted them up so I got out the wee folding step to rest them on. 😀
I'm depleting my frozen soup stores but so enjoying them. When rummaging in the freezer I found so many more so I must use them up before indulging in a soup making spree.
Today I'll fill my car boot with the stuff I've piled up for the CS. I'm being fairly ruthless again, this must be my third pass. Each time I do this less stuff seems indispensable for my life and well-being. I've even decluttered my socks after I found that having too many is just annoying, not that they are going to the CS.
Scarlet - I can't recall if it was you or Snoozer who was asking about long t-shirts. The one I bought from Next was a semi-disappointment. My searches found that the correct term is 'long line' which turned up some in M&S. However, I agree that long-sleeved t-shirts aren't too lovely just now.
Morning all and thanks for the thread @ScarletRibbons. I would love to join a book club but haven't managed to find one near me. Would also worry I wouldn't read as fast as others!!
We've had a charity bag through the door @Gers so some more decluttering for us too. They collect tomorrow, so will have a sort out later. Unfortunately, they won't take books so I'm advertising them on FB MP. May also try Olio.
WFH today and we are having veggie sausage tray bake tonight which means tackling a BNS - almost, but not quite as bad to prepare as a swede.....
There's washing to do but will wait until tomorrow as it's meant to be dry - let's hope the forecast is correct. Have a good day all and hugs to the poorlies. Coxy

Pouring with rain again and set in for the day, it seems we have had non stop rain for ages !
I am supposed to have three clients today but one is poorly so only two coming, I still get paid for all three so all good, I am not sure what to do today as its raining off and on all day, I shall ask them when they come, may be a baking and crafting day.
Dinner tonight will be hot dogs in a bun with a few chips, will do the potatoes this morning before my guests come.
DW has been emptied and I have put a wash on and had a tidy through, will run the hoover over as well.
Coxy - no CS bags round here so I pack stuff into white bin liners first and then a carrier bag, I then keep the bigger bag when depositing the items.
Ruby - would any of your clients enjoy jigsaws, board games or playing cards? I definitely relate playing cards to rainy days and Christmas.
I've put a small dark washing load on a quick wash cycle, no chance of it being hung outside so it'll go on the upstairs airer with the dehumidifier on for a couple of hours. That's one great advantage of clearing the spare room of the double bed which took up most of the space.
Morning all Rained most of yesterday but nice and bright this morning so that's good. It was nice to see everyone at work yesterday but I felt shattered by lunchtime! Not in till lunch time today so I can have a quiet potter this morning.. Have some admin jobs to do so will get them out of the way. DD and little one are coming home today - they had to go to hospital on Sunday night as little one has tonsilitis - she has 10 days of antibiotics so hopefully will be on the mend soon. Nice chat with eldest DD last night - she was feeling sad as her closest friend has left Germany as she has a new job working in Dubai. DD already has plans to visit her next year when she's settled. Well I'm going to get on. Hope everyone has a good day today x
Morning folks. Much milder here too so the heating didn't need to go on this morning. We seem to be escaping the rain that seems to be falling heavily elsewhere but I don't suppose we will be lucky for much longer.
Tuesday again so it's coffee and lunch day with BFF. But as I stuffed myself at the carvery yesterday with family,(even finding room for pud and custard!) I should really pick from the healthy eating section of the menu today!
I'm another yet to pass go with Xmas shopping. I've always been like IZZIE buying things throughout the year but this time I haven't been able to summon up any enthusiasm at all. Maybe because we have such a dire selection of shops nowadays and I can't face traipsing around big shopping centres these days. . I think I foresee gift cards for all the Gt nephews and nieces I have to buy for this time!
DD starts her new job today and is feeling apprehensive after being in her previous job for so long (32 years!!) She will be working at the lovely hospice that looked after both Bob and I so well in his last 3 weeks. I hope it all goes well for her and she has no regrets.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up or the MIA. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all seems dry here this morning but chilly . I am doing paperwork today need to change the cars over on the insurance have tried to do it online but it says the reg is not right i know it is as its a pre-registered car so will need to call them . I also need to call the garage to see if they will take my cameras out and refit them for me . I was going shopping today but can't be bothered and its not urgent so will do that later this week Hugs to all those who need them have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe, dry and warm xx
We're back last night from a few days in Derbyshire, including a visit to Chatsworth House, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. It's warmer back down here so will plough on with the shopping and ironing and catching up with the housework. I can see that DS visited whilst we were away as he's added 3 bags of stuff to the pile in the garage!
DH fancies a chilli tonight so will make that later and then there will be leftovers for me tomorrow, as he's lunching with former work colleagues.
I have a band of artificial flowers waiting to be put on my new Morris hat but will look at knitting a few as well, to cover any gaps. Bought some lovely little feathery butterflies in the market at Bakewell yesterday so they will also be added. It's a major work in progress but needs to be finished soon.
@Gers: your talk of socks made me realise I've got lots of those very short trainer socks stuffed in a drawer so will sort those out and probably let them go to a charity shop. Will let go of the vision of me ever needing them again for jogging!

bit overcast down here in Kent. Washing on airer today I think. Haircut for me today, not much else planned.
keep safe and warm all.
