I'm interested in how much you £4000 types are spending on phone/internet/mobile.
Whilst I'm not in the challenge, I/my wife spend far less than some of you - and without trying very hard.
For phone/internet I pay Carphone Warehouse/TalkTalk just under £20 a month for unlimited UK calls and "free" internet.
For mobile I (or my wife, in fact, because I get a company phone, but that's not the point) pay nothing at all - because she has a 12-month contract@£20 per month with a full voucher reclaim of the full amount.
Why do people pay £15 a month (or whatever) for mobile phones?
(Just asking - not having a go at anyone).

Can you get glasses from Oxfam...have I missed something?
Please tell me more if this is true, as it has been 3yrs since I have had my eyes tested, mainly because of the cost of the two pairs of specs I have to buy.:o I have to include thin lenses etc as I would look like a right dork with 'bottle bottoms' as I have a really, erm, 'challenging' perscription!:rotfl:
not as far as iknow to the oxfam bit...
but you can now buy glasses online i've just been looking at them there are some really nice ones...
if you search on the main site here there are some links...
and they can do thinned lenses...
and did i mention they are well cheap.:D

Hmph. I just tried to find an emoticon of a smilie poking another one with a stick as I thought it would be apt here.
Well Funbrum, then I dare you to come and cancel it for me and see if you'll be brave enough. It is a really odd little Newsagent that appears to have been there since time began, with the same man running it. I did manage to cut down from Sat/Sun papers down to just Sat paper and he went very cold with me and seemed very angry. I just don't dare go back and say no more!

oh or if you really wanted to get them on the high street boot are giving £20 off with a voucher that you have to get from one of their advantage machines in store, i've just had a really cheeky week getting my eyes tested for free and then comparing prices all over the tiny town i live in.
the only place left to go is asda...
oh and my yellow pages had a voucher for half orice eye tests if there are no free ones available at the moment... might be worth looking

Hi Marky,
For me personally, I don't want to get tied in with any kind of phone contract. Also, I have been with O2 so long I am overrun with free texts, minutes and extra credit being dumped into my account that I get an awful lot out of the £10-£15 a month I spend on it! Some months I don't even need to top up anything at all. I like having this freedom

My dream is to live in a small holding and run an animal sanctuary and animal foster home Marru
I just said EXACTLY this to my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago!!:T
JumbleBee, I have no chance on the March March I'm afraid, as today is one of my Spend Days! Still not done my totals... off to finish catching up on the posts...
FunBrum, I think Redglass meant that they buy clothes etc in Oxfam but like to buy more expensive glasses.
Marky, I spend £5/mth on my mobile and £16 for broadband/phone with calls.
Got to go into town to get (the cheapest) petrol - what an oxymoron that is these days!! - and really don't want to, I hate weekend shopping. Will be brave...
Ooh, £35.18 interest in one of my accounts today, woo hoo!The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hi,
I am paying arm and a leg for my landline and broadband as (due to complicated circumstances - very long story) I am bound to BT's business contract
. Come September I will definitely get out of my business contract and go for private but I still don't think I can go to the cheapest provider as reliability is crucial to me. I work from home remotely so not being able to get online equals no work equals no income. I haven't included costs from landline or broadband to my challenge as consider these as business costs and my semiprofessional book dealing in Amazon is so far covering the costs.
I have included my mobile in the challenge and am paying £20.- per month and getting 400 minutes included which means that LO can talk to her Dad once a day for 10-15 minutes on the phone.
