Hi everyone, sorry not been around for ages, I really won't be able to carry on with the challenge, being 8 months preg and 2 boys under 4 is taking its toll and I just can't keep a tally of what is spent
I know I will still come in around the £4k plus cbenefit as we do not have more than this coming in!!! I would like to thank everyone for their support and to Nyk for creating this challenge as it really has helped me shape our finances so we can live within our means!
I will still lurk and post when I can and let you know when baby arrives but I wish you all the best of luck and I hope to join you all next year!
Thank you :lovethougSealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151

Princess Leia, you don't need to apologise, 2 boys under 4 and 8 months pregnant explains it all! Wishing you lots of luck with the birth, please do come back and let us know how you both are, and pop in whenever you can, just to say Hello! xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

whoops....my 'spend no more in feb' went a bit wrong ALREADY....
but to be fair it was only because I was at a uni course interview all day yesterday, and a part-time job interview in the evening, and got sent to wait in a cafe for both. Then i figured as i had went over already i might as well buy milk.
grrrrrr AND than the p/t job is useless because the buses to it turned out to be rubbish - i got stranded and had to get my mummy to pick me up!
to top it off lidl didnt even have any free food! how very rude! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Whitewing - I got my cheque too! Maybe my choccie will arrive tomorrow
Glad everything is going frugally well with MIL and impending junior frugaler (frugalette?) plans - I loved your phantom baby tale, it was so, so funny I LOL! :rotfl:
Brokemum - thanks for the info re M&S and HoF - I'll certainly be waiting until summer to make the trip now as I have £10 voucher for each of them and will do my best to earn some more. :rotfl: I can't wait for my frugal cruise - can't decide whether to sail to Larne or go on the wacky looking Sea Cat and head straight for Belfast!
Elantan, hope you are doing ok and that OH behaves whilst suffering from his bad back. and I have to say, what a way to avoid the shops! I hated nightshifts and have only did 2 weeks during the whole of 2007 for a temp contract, and spent even more during that because there was a festival on at the time! I can't win!
Keren, you bring your sister here, I'm sure she'll soon get the hang of this frugalling. It sounds like you've already infected her with frugalitis and, with such a good 'frugalife' coach as you for a sister, she could sail through it. Hope she likes pasta! And don't forget to tell her about the soap nuts.
Bails - I am up for the challenge of only spending on DD or SO days in March and will highlight the days on my rolled-up-in-a-tube-under-my-desk chart (I KNOW it's meant to be a wall chart, but I haven't got any wall space for hanging it). Cheers to another challenge within a challenge
Princess - Take care of yourself and don't worry about not keeping up with this challenge. An occasional post to let us all know how you are will be great and you MUST let us know when baby arrives - I think he/she'll be the first frugalbabe here! Hope all goes well for you and do make the most of your stay in hospital even if you've opted for just the one day. I remember I asked for a fortnight last time, but they just laughed!
I'm down to only £7.03 of this week's grocery budget, my phone bill is in and my Internet payment comes out bank tomorrow. BUT I am pleasantly surprised! Becaue I switched Broadband packages last month, the catch-up payment is only £6.92 until the first monthly payment of £14.99 is due and on the phonebill, I set up my direct debit, which gets you a small discount and loses the £4.50 standing admin charge for payment processing. RESULT! My normally £70 per quarter bill is just under £60 :TI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hya everyone.....congratulations mollymop, I love newborns. All stages of childhood and even adolescence is magical but I think from newly born to about 6 months is a lovely time......:rotfl: .....well seeing my youngest is 23 and I'm obviously weraing my rose tinted contact lenses tonite!!!!
Today went well, the workmen arrived at 8.30am and left about 4pm, at one stage I had 4 workmen and 3 apprentices in the house and they were in every single room. I felt totally as if I was in their way and eventually ended up sitting in a corner with the PC and managed to get totally lost in forums on MSE that I hardly ever venture into!!! I was so engrossed that the wee apprentice had to come right over to me that they were switching the electricity off!!!!
I would normally leave workmen to get on with things and go to work but my dog is 15 and Ive no relations near enough to leave her with and there's no way I could leave her in the house God knows what I'd come back to, but after a wee while and loads of barking at all these strangers she settled down. I was thinking of getting one of these dog watching services to look after her during the day but I had holidays to take so I saved some money!!!! Though technically I wasnt seriously considering using them, so did I save money or not???....hmmmm.....Im goin to go with the former that I did save money.!!!!!!! Any money used for the imrovements is from the extra I took out when buying the house
The downside is that they disconnected my old cooker ( new one going in when kitchen is being done) though should be able to cope as can use the forman, micro, toaster and SCooker until then. Sorry for rambling on...back to the challenge!!!!!.Was hoping for a NSD but by the time they all left, was starving and DS was due in from work so paid for a chippy!!!!!!cheerio hen0 -
Congrats Mollymop5
Welcome Marru  Meant to say Hi before but brain forgot
Happy holidays Keren. Lucky you :T
Whitewing what a gift your MIL sounds. When does she hear about her job?
Happy to report a NSD :j But tomorrow may see me having to part with cash  as we have no bread and no flour. DH might be a little peeved at having to finish off the cheese scones if he fancies a bacon buttie :rotfl:
I could always see what is lurking at the back of Mum's cupboards again as I have made a load of food for her this week
It's blowing a howling gale outside at the moment. If the power goes off I'm going to be in a right pickle as I have used all the matches to light the candles:rolleyes:0
