Breakdown cover

Looking into breakdown cover for the first time ever.
Mainly because I am travelling from the east midlands to Cornwall on my own at the end of the month and want some cover just in case.....
Refuse to pay the prices of the 2 main providers, so narrowed it down to either green flag or auto aid recovery.
Anyone had experience with either of these?

I’ve been with Driver Guardian for some years, don’t have their own vehicles so will send out local agencies. Think I’m right in saying they’ll even come to your home, whereas others sometimes won’t attend unless you’re a certain distance away.
Very good price; called them out twice and decent service from the people that attended. Only dropped them this year as managed to get a good deal with AA through TopCashback; will probably go back to DG on renewal. They also do a legal cover policy which I found worked out far cheaper than adding that on as an extra on my motor insurance policy.
If you’re an NHS employee, have a look on Blue Light Card0 -
I have been with autoaid for 8 years now. No issues at all recovering me home and twice getting me back up and running.
Spouse cover it a nice addition to.0
