  • You must NOT accept paypal for a collect in person, they can just file an item not received and you have no proof of delivery.

Just had a message from the buyer. He has been reading this post !
  • As pdel61 says under NO circumstances accept paypal for a collection. You are liable to be down the money and the laptop. There is NO form of proof that paypal will accept for a collection. Accept cash only and preferably have someone with you.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Okay, I think we are on top of things.

Buyer is paying by Bank Transfer and collecting in person at the weekend.

It sounds good to me and I am sure by reading this post (and the others from me about winning the laptop) the buyer is happy it's all genuine.

    Many thanks guys.
  • Bank transfers can take a few days to show up if using online banking. May be possible to phone or go into a branch to check payment has been made.
I always wait until I have it in writing or on a statement before I release the goods. Any genuine buyer/seller will understand this.
