Pushy estate agents-is this normal?

since we had our offer accepted a few weeks ago, sellers estate agents are emailing us regularly. During each week we receive at least 2 emails from the sale progressor askings where things are. She emails our solicitors and copy us in, telling them to do various things. I find this very pushy and a bit too much.

We instructed our solicitors, signed the forms and made initial payment. I believe they know what they have to do so I do not understand why she email them constantly and telling them what they should do.
it makes me think that perhaps there is something wrong with the house?1 -
EAs are pushy because they earn commission if/when the sale Completes.
Sometimes this can be useful eg if they get an overworked conveyancer at a conveyancing warehouse to progress the sale, or a seller/buyer who is not responding to solicitors/whatever.
Other times it's just annoying. Just accept that this is what EAs do!1 -

It's usual for the estate agent to chase you (the buyer) - but they shouldn't really be giving your solicitor instructions.
Was the solicitor recommended to you by the estate agent? It's generally better not to use a solicitor recommended to you by the estate agent.
Anyway, you can remind your solicitor that they are not to take any instructions from the estate agent - only from you.
And I would tell the solicitor not to provide any information or updates direct to the estate agent. The info and updates should only go to you, and you decide what you want to pass on to the estate agent.

If it's a few weeks ago where are you in the process? Near exchange?0

Examples of todays questions from EA to my solicitor [I am being copied in]:
When do you start searches and enquiries
have you received your clients mortgage offer yet0 -
Seems fair enough. They are pushing things along.

for taking a call from me to discuss my sale and purchase but has ignored all emails from the EA.My EA in my purchase has commented a couple of times on this but my solicitor doesn’t work for them (independent) and I provide the updates to the EA. Thankfully there is no EA on the sale and I deal directly with my purchase (private sale). I get they only get paid when the sale goes through but it’s just another bad thing about EAs!0 -
