EonNext Reversing HM Government Discount Energy Bills Support Scheme Credit

Hi
My EonNext bill shows a credit of £66 to my account 6/10/2022 for the HM Government Discount Energy Bills Support Scheme Credit.
It then shows a debit of £66 to my account 10/10/2022 as a "reversed credit".
No money has gone into my bank so I rang their customer services who say the reverse credit is applied because they say I'm not eligible for the grant because my existing contract with them pre-dates april of this year. (I think it started in feb of this year).

Is this correct. I understood from the info on the government web site that all households with a domestic electricity connection in England (which I am) are eligible.

It sounds like the answer you had from Eon Next was muddled between the Energy Price Guarantee (the cap on the standard variable tariff, which may not apply to all customers with older fixed tariffs) and the Energy Bills Support Scheme (the £400 which does apply to all domestic electricity account holders).

Eon is making a mess of these payments.

On my account the £66 was shown as a credit but put my account into debit.  It wasn't until I pointed it out to them that they realised there was a problem.  I think it stems from me needing to change my DD amount since the 1st Oct when the scheme began and I am guessing I will need to double check this each month.  On the plus side they did correct the error quickly once it was pointed out to them.
