Hello,
I am thinking of issuing a CCA request to my creditor, the debt was initially a credit card taken out with barclaycard in 2011, the account was opened over the phone and defaulted in 2016. The debt was then sold onto PRA group in 2018/19. I wanted to know if anyone has seen any success with accounts this age, as I read that they usually don’t have the CCA details for older accounts than this one, and usually only when it has been sold onto a debt purchaser.

The account is no longer on my credit report, but just worried that if I request the CCA they will obtain it and then no longer be happy with my reduced payments per month.
Hoping to hear some success stories with an account a similar age and potentially with PRA or barclaycard 😊
Thanks!

Making a request for information under sec 77/79 consumer credit act is one of your statutory rights and will make no difference whatsoever to any payment arrangement you may or may not have in force.
Many thousands of debtors have exercised this right, to ascertain their position.
The original creditor, in this case Barclaycard, always retains the original paperwork, it`s usually kept for a period of 6 years, but this can vary.
PRA Group will have to go back to Barclaycard in order to obtain this information, who may or may not still have access to it, it`s perfectly acceptable to provide a reconstituted version of your credit agreement, it does not have to be the signed original copy and can be reconstructed from other information held on their systems.
If they can`t provide what you have asked for, they should confirm this in writing.
Make sure you make the request in writing and enclose the statutory fee of £1.00 in the form of an uncrossed postal order, the request is not a valid request without the fee, even though at times it gets returned.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
