I doubt whether a site with 100 caravans on it will be running all 100 off a single supply, more likely multiple 3 phase supplies each with its own standing charge.stevieb333 said:Thanks for your replies to my query. As I understand it OFGEM says that the standing charge should be divided between all of the recipients of the resold electricity. The site owner will only be charged one standing charge fee. If as Tocosalamanca says, he is being charged £2.50 per day and for arguments sake our owner is paying a fee of around the same level then with 100 caravans on the site the owner is collecting £55.00 per day in standing charges when the fee should be around £0.025p per day for each Van. OFGEM say that resellers are allowed to make a small charge for maintenance etc. I, personally, wouldn't call £0.52 a day a small charge2 -
Some owners may use electricity even when the park is closed, eg frost protection, alarm clock etc. So there is electricity available all year round even if park access is not.
The query I would ask, does each unit incur standing charge, or is there only one standing for the business account?1 -
I think you are greatly underestimating what is involved is distributing electricity lawfully and safely to 100 individual users and keeping that installation properly maintained and tested.stevieb333 said:Thanks for your replies to my query. As stated by a poster above, some may still be using electricity during the closed season. Also, as I mentioned the concept hasn't changed.0 -
This sounds extremely unlikely to me. Why do you believe it to be the case? Is it just an assumption?stevieb333 said:Thanks for your replies to my query.
