I have been doing most of my property renovation work with a general builder on a day rate basis.
This is in central London.

He is v experienced and v skilled, around 25 years experience, a general builder type: he has done my bathroom, various carpentry works, replastered walls, installed doors, moved door frames, installed covings, skirting, painting rooms, tiling, etc.
Pretty much any work you need he can do, but has 2-3 things he will not do and is upfront on these. Quality is to a v high standard; and he and his team is v pleasant to work with.

he charges £250 per day (plus vat), which I find overall reasonable for London as it also avoids me having to work with and coordinate multiple trades people. 8h work days incl lunch break.

What is a current market  rate for a good (general) builder in London?
I am primarily asking out of curiosity if this is in line/above/below market.

Thank you
