Kitchen Refurb Quote

Options
Getting quotes for a complete kitchen refurb, is this a decent price? My location is Hertfordshire just outside of London and kitchen size is approx 5m x 3m.

£1780 for electrical work, and £900 for a plaster skim....
They do seem to like the phrase "legally compliant yadda" - As long as the work comes with a Part P certificate, it is going to be compliant.
Day rate for a plasterer & helper should be around £400 to £500, and another £100 for materials. The kitchen, at 5m x 3m, is not huge, and should only take a day to plaster.

Howden appliances - Please, not the Lamona branded stuff. It doesn't have a very good reputation, and for your money, you'd be better off getting brand name appliances from other sources.

Thanks for the reply @FreeBear. So you would say it’s too much?

This is the first quote we’ve had back from 4 people who came to look at the job, so let’s see what the others come up with.

With regards to appliances, we’ve sourced our own and gone for Neff.

For plastering, certainly too much. £600 would be a reasonable price. Just seen the two extras (fitting gas hob & Quooker tap) - £325 just for fitting a tap (yes, I know a Quooker is more than just a tap) strikes me as being excessive. You might want to ask if they are Gas Safe registered when it comes to fitting the hob.
