So after getting frustrated with virgin whilst negotiating my contract I cancelled, there was a VERY attractive deal with BT but unfortunately that was running out the day I decided to cancel so I signed up. As I suspected the day after Virgin rang me 4 times. I've yet to speak to virgin to see what they're offering but I suspect it will be what I asked them for as I based the amount on posts in the haggling discussion . However now I have cancelled I'm very reluctant to change my only concern is the broadband speed I currently have 100 mbps with virgin with bt that will reduce to up to 36mbps. I work from home so need to be able to use Internet for calls and teams and I also stream a fair bit of radio and TV? Am I going to be seeing a lot more of that buffering disc or will the 36mbps suffice?

If you are moving to BT Fibre to the Cabinet and only getting an estimated speed of 36, then you will be on a relatively long and possible crappy phone line for part of your connection and your upload speed could be problematic too.
If that is the case I would be haggling with Virgin for a deal.2 -
If you are being told "up to" 36Mbps download speed, it could be less than that in reality. If you do get 36, it should be fine for video streaming. Depends what load your other uses put on it.At least with Virgin, you generally get whatever speed they advertise. Probably best to answer one of Virgin's calls if they call again. Alternatively, you could call them to cancel the cancellation and see what they offer, or move away then go back on a new customer offer. Not sure how long your property has to be disconnected from Virgin to then be considered a new customer though.

I think the OP may be referring to the package on offer in the deal not the maximum line speed.
I beleive 8mb should be fine if it's only you using the broadband at home during the day for zoom cals etc. This isn't a business package though so you may want to consider a backup mobile connection in case the internet goes down when working.
