Feeling rushed

You cannot make the decision to buy elsewhere till you find the right property for you.
I had an offer accepted last April and still waiting for sellers to find somewhere.... Admittedly at the time they said they were looking for a retirement bungalow (notoriously hard to find) and were not going to just buy the 1st one they saw. And I said I was in no hurry/prepared to wait, but the point is a) communication /mutual understanding is important and b) no one can rush you.
If it takes you time and your buyers don't want to wait, find other buyers/re-market, and let them find a different house to buy!
They don't sound serious about moving at all.0 -
Estate agents like to pile on the pressure - completely disregard anything they say and you go at your own pace! Besides your property sold full asking in 24hrs - so don’t worry you can sell to someone else should your buyer not be willing to wait a reasonable time. Our sellers EA was dreadful telling us we were letting the whole chain down by not being ready to move quickly enough. I know it’s their job to push the sales through, but it was all lies spouted and created unnecessary stress. The sale went through despite the dreadful EA - and certainly no thanks to them either.Lancashire

Take your time, but be honest with the buyers.
As has been mentioned above, they will have taken an amount of time to find your property so should have an appreciation for the fact that it takes time.
That said, different people have different views on what is acceptable and you may find if you take too long your buyer will look around and could pull out...given you sold it in 24hrs this doesn't feel like the end of the world for your property (although only you know this).
Our buyers waited from Jan to October for us to finally complete the chain (crazy market here, lots of offers way over asking and other dramas that I won't go into!), their buyers waited from Oct 21!
Think about the end result, the house you buy is where you will live for the next x years, the buyer you sell to will be long forgotten.1 -
Op, you really need to find out what the buyers status is before you decide how long to take. Remember the point is that you want to sell and move on. Don't buy in a rush, but you could sell quicker,1

Thanks all, the buyer is temporarily living with a family member and hasn’t had a survey on my property yet. I think mine was the first house they looked at. The estate agents know I am actively looking for somewhere to buy and I have already viewed some places.1

Karr55 said:My house went on Rightmove last week and sold for the asking price the next day. The estate agents have contacted me to ask if I’m looking for a new house. Obviously I am - it’s 4.34 am and I’ve been on Rightmove since 2 am. How long is it reasonable for me to find a new house? It’s a big decision and houses in my price range are in short supply. I don’t want to be rushed into buying the wrong place.Signature on holiday for two weeks0
