damaged laminate floor

When I moved in a couple of the laminate floors were damaged and no spares were left.

I am trying to work out the best path to fix these, they are currently hiding underneath a rug but the rug looks awkward in the room and I want to remodel the room. I am trying to avoid replacing all of the flooring as the room is large and I don't currently have the budget for it.

I wondered what my options are, thanks in advance !

Are you sure it's laminate, not wood?
  • I'm not sure to be honest
  • That looks like water damage on engineered oak floor, depending of the thickness of the oak and the depth of the stain it may sand out or a combination of sanding and oxalic acid but you’ll probably have to refinish the whole floor.
Do you have a threshold you could lift to establish type of flooring and thickness of oak you have to play with?
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'

It's worth trying bleach (and 'oxi' stain remover?). No chance of full recovery, but can improve a little depending on the stain nature.
  • Definitely wood not laminate, could be solid or engineered. One possibility assuming it is a floating floor, if it won’t clean up is lift the floor and relocate that piece under a sofa.

Look closely at the grain of the floor, if you can see repeat patterns then it's laminate.
