Front door double glazing quote

So I have received a quote for front door and 3 new windows, is it reasonable?

UPVC - £895
Composite - £1650

Windows

Lounge - £900

The price of the door isn't much more than I paid for (white uPVC) back in June. I got my order in just before the supplier upped the prices by 10%.

The rest of the prices don't appear to be hugely excessive, but as always, get a couple more quotes. Use local independent installers that have much lower overheads and don't do the hard sell that the likes of Anglian indulge in.

There are no scrappage schemes, government grants, or other magical funding available. If you get offered a "sign now and get 50% off", it is a sure fire indicator that the prices are hugely inflated.

Are composite doors significantly better than UPVC doors, are they worth double the price as my quote shows?

My street is majority UPVC doors and the few composite doors that exist look faded out and turning white.

Get a quote online from tradeframe.com to get a good price guide.  Their online pricing tool doesn’t need email or phone number so you won’t be hassled with follow up calls, I must call my sales manager techniques etc.
