Help with basin waste

Hi all,

I'm trying to sort my basin waste for our cloakroom and bought a chrome bottle trap waste which has a 32mm chrome outlet pipe.

To connect this up with my existing 32mm plastic pipe waste, I bought this adaptor:

The chrome nut and washer end attach to the chrome pipe and this part is fine. What I cannot work out however is how the other end connects up to standard 32mm waste. The mcalpine website does include a technical drawing with the measurements and this shows that the internal diameter of the non threaded plastic end is 36.5mm- but how do I connect this up to what I have? 

Any help much appreciated.

It says "x ABS Solvent Weld"

This means that a plastic pipe is glued into the adaptor with 'solvent cement'

Ah thanks just realised I got my push fit and my abs pipe mixed up and didn't realise the former was a slightly smaller diameter- hence why thought something wasn't right.
