Parking Eye Scotland

Apologise to any forum adminstrators but due to the Scottish context i wanted to post for advice.
In short PCN issued due to an apparent overstay.
On another post there was advice to contact landowner. How do i find that out?
Should the manager be approached?
Is there any point in writing advising that i was not the driver as this was the case?
Does the Scottish context make a difference around avoiding the pestering letters?

You could complain to the manager to see if he can help. Regular customer? Take receipts as proof.Nothing will stop PE issuing letters. Just ignore them in Scotland. Come back in the vanishingly unlikely event of receiving anything from the Scottish legal system about this. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

As long as the driver's identity is never revealed then it is safe to ignore ParkingEye. At the moment a vehicle keeper cannot be held liable for a charge from an unregulated private parking company.
Note that thanks to your Dear Leader, vehicle keepers will be liable for charges from private parking companies when the Transport Bill, Scotland is implemented, probably next year.
On the one hand she says she wants independence but on the other she plans to import a law from south of the border that will mean someone who was not in the vehicle at the time can be held liable.
Scottish motorists and the Scottish courts are in for a nasty surprise.
Do however complain to the landowner/retail park/store manager and your MSP.

The retailer (or landowner) can so often be the motorist's friend in these situations - forum Plan A - the more pragmatic will have much more regard for their future customer loyalty than p1ssing them off so a third party parking firm can benefit from £100 squeezed from them. Then it's bye bye to potentially £thousands in spend/profit from erstwhile regular customers!
Can you tell us who the retailer is please? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
