Hi all, DGS football this morning playing away nearly half an hours drive. We were hoping it would be cancelled as it was on a grass pitch and was raining, but no the Whatsapp msg came through at 7.30 ;)The FA grassroots football section was trialling silent support, no shouting from spectators only applause or cheers. It felt very strange and I don't think the boys were that keen. It rained throughout and I came in freezing, but eggs and bacon and an hours blast of heating have put that right, ready to go to our match now gluttons for punishment us
DGS is off to a party so DGD is bringing one of her pals.
I think it'll be an Indian takeaway tonight for a treat. Last night I got breaded chicken kievs for the men, but they were complaining about the chicken say ing the texture was strange, they said it last time too when it was breaded ch breast so not sure if methods of production have changed.Anyway better not get them again! Shame as they were a quick easy meal.Taff, hugs, I dwell on things like that too.TA hope Sparkle appreciates you, you're a good 'unRight better go, have a good day x

Afternoon all. Thank you for the kind words. I'm still slightly miffed and out of sorts but mostly I cooked myself out of a major grump, made gigantes plaki, except they weren't gigantes, they were normal size, and a chicken liver and bacon pasta sauce which sounds as if it should have been horrible but was actually delicious. All the bad stuff in there though, bacon, wine, butter...
I was feeding my friend before we went and she thought it was gorgeous..I will make that again I think maybe with a slight bit of thickening agent in it. Here's the recipe for anyone who fancies a go [I just used tagliatelle though] https://www.theguardian.com/food/2022/oct/29/bucatini-bolognese-gnochetti-sausage-white-wine-fennel-reginette-chicken-liver-bacon-recipe-phil-howard .I think we probably came last in the quiz, it was ten rounds of general knowledge, and there were about seventeen teams, but it raised money for the charity and a good night was had. We're out tonight for a birthday of a friend of OH, that has the potential to be very messy.
Rosy, that sounds a bit odd, I'm not sure I can be relied on to be silent anywhere...god knows how supporters will keep it up...Gers, yes, I woke up cold too...camelot, enjoy your meet up! Scarlet, Izzy, very jealous of your new floors, I've just swept and cleaned my pockmarked tiles..Ruby, what a shame for your daughter, here's hoping she gets another one soon. Nanny, glad hsi meds got sorted before WW3 broke out! TA, she sounds like good company though
Take care all, shout to the world weary/unwell..

Hi all
Slightly warmer today than yesterday. Despite looking like the Michelin man with all the layers my hands were completely numb with cold so I relented and popped the heating on for a couple of hours. Made a big difference and no need for any today.
taff Sorry about your friend if its worth saving then maybe a frank conversation is in order. On the other hand some are just not worth saving (Ive had a few over the years who I'm Glad are gone)
No real plans over the weekend which works for me. Found some pretty ancient bacon lardons in the freezer so tonight will be a carbonara with garlic bread.
Have a lovely weekend everyone
