Thermostat Dead

Hi

Our Honeywell CM927 screen is dead.Changing batteries has not dead.There was a glimmer of light on display when no batteries inserted for 1-2 seconds but no numbers or other details coming on.

It is paired with BDR91 wireless relay box which shows red light indicative of loss of communication.

I have tried drying the screen with hair dryer etc-no change.

Worse come worse scenario if I get a replacement thermostat does it have to be same model? Is there only certain companies or devices BDR91 would connect to?

Any advice?

There are a number of Honeywell thermostats that can be bound to a BDR91.

If you intend to bind the new device to the existing BDR91 yourself then take care. I know from past experience that it is easy to get into a double bind situation.

Before throwing out the existing thermostat, you could attempt to rebind them.

Does it have to be Honeywell products only or can any other company thermostat be connected to BDR91?

As far as I know, there are no third-party thermostats that are compatible with the Honeywell BDR91.

The BDR can be removed and replaced with a wireless link to another smart thermostat. I know that a neighbour replaced his thermostat with Tado, and the BDR with the Tado extension kit.
