Some thoughts on the AA

"This is my last column as your Money editor — here are some of my main takeaways ...
... 6. The AA is not a breakdown company
It is a financial services company that happens to also fix cars. I despise the AA like no other firm, even HSBC (who I loathe). It treats customers with complete disdain, by rolling them over on to hugely expensive policies after the first year as a customer. This practice is banned for car insurance, but not for breakdown cover. We’ve reported on all kinds of unscrupulous sales tactics from this firm.
A new code of conduct from the City regulator is supposed to force companies to treat customers better.
The litmus test of its success will be whether it can clean up the AA."

Being with the AA is a cat and mouse game to get the best price, haggling, changing family members etc.
But to be fair the 2-3 times I've needed them they have been there pretty quickly which is much more important than price.0 -

Some thoughts on the AA
Automobile Anonymous?
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
