I have a plumbing and drains policy with BG.  I had to get dyno rod out last month for an emergency and as i couldn't get through to BG on the phone or laotop,  i rang dyno rod rod myself and they came out.  I paid for the service myself and have a receipt but can i claim it back from BG on my policy.  I have been on the chat line and 'phone but just keep getting passed around.

What do the T&C say about using a third party?

I would be very surprised if you can just use another company.

No chance whatsoever. These policies do not guarantee a particular response time, But you cannot lose by asking.
Cancel and self-insure.
If it's a shared drain, it's the responsibility of your water authority.

DynoRod is BG's contractor for this type of work.

BG will have negotiated special rates which will be a lot less than you paid - if you are lucky BG may refund a small portion of what you paid.
