Home insulation surveys?

Looks like, as usual, my thread is suffering from 'topic drift'!
It's a professional building insulation survey I'm after, with costed options for improvements together with their relative benefits.0 -
Few comments - Our EPC survey made an error I had told him that we had cavity wall insulation and showed him certificate however we were downgraded a grade for not having it! I had to correct that. The survey took about 30 minutes and cost around £80. Don't waste your money.
I looked up hiring a thermal camera locally and you had to pay for a week which was £60 - £80. I think you can buy a Black and Decker one for about £50. I've no idea on their accuracy though. You can then hire it out for a small fee. There is a website for this which was in The Guardian. No-one in my area doing that though.

Don't want to hijack the thread but a quick question - I am interested in purchasing thermal lining for three windows in our living room, all different sizes. Wondered if anyone could answer the following questions:-
Are they expensive?
Did you have to alter them to fit? I am useless at sewing.
How do they fit on to the existing curtain (which already has a lining)?
Our curtains are hung on wooden poles on rings. TIA.0 -
I got my thermal linings from Dunelm and it was simple for me as my living and dining room curtains are both standard 90 x 90 eyelet, also both already lined.
The material has header tape and you put in the supplied curtain hooks and rings, distanced as per instructions. Got pole down and laid curtains on the carpet, lining on top. You then put pole back through, 1 eyelet, 2 lining hoops, 2 eyelets, 2 hoops, repeat to end with 1 eyelet to finish. Repeat with 2nd curtain.
I think if you have curtains that already have header tape you would fasten the liners directly to that.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Looks like my original post has disappeared beneath the noise.
Not to worry, I'll come back another day.0 -
