Qualifying Direct Debits for switching to new Nationwide FlexDirect account

Hello
I am looking to do a switch and open one of these accounts. I have no direct debits so will need to create some. Would monthly direct debits to the RSPCA and Oxfam be qualifying? I could create them, let them pay out once, and then initiate the switch. Would this work or does it need to be a utility bill or some such (which is a problem for me).
Also, does the size of the DD's matter or would a fiver for each be ok?
Thanks.

Your charity DDs would qualify.
In theory they could be for any amount & some charities do accept £2 or £3 (they could even be for £1 but if for a charity that would no doubt be spent on admin costs)
You are always wise to let the DDs pay out once because you know that they are active. Sometimes in a switch you can set them after the switch date- it is clear from specific t&cs.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Any DD will qualify. With some offers, the frequency of DD might matter but usually, annual ones suffice. Size of DD doesn't matter unless the offer terms prescribe any minimum size, which isn't the case for the current Nationwide switch offer. £1 is sufficient unless you feel generous.0

I am after some ideas for low/no cost DD's - have done credit cards, plum, amnesty - I wonder if I can create another for a secondary plum account? would that count?0

Moneybox is another onePlayers4you said:I am after some ideas for low/no cost DD's - have done credit cards, plum, amnesty - I wonder if I can create another for a secondary plum account? would that count?
But as for Plum, you can link multiple current accounts but only 1 can be your primary linked account and be used to take DD payments. When you change the primary account, it cancels the existing DD from your previous primary account and sets up a new mandate.1 -
Thanks, will try moneybox. I need to keep the plum active for TSB so cant do it - shame it cancels the DDPRAISETHESUN said:

Paypal is another easy one to do (assuming you have a PayPal account).
You can manually add money to your balance/wallet to trigger a DD payment, without need to buy anything
And you can link to multiple accounts.0
