KRE recovery letter re Mezzanine Group shares

Had a letter sent to
my parents address saying that I am owed Money as a shareholder from
a liquidated company…Mezzanine Group plc… they are asking me to claim for a number of shares which I have never held… surely a scam ? They want me to check details via a website log in… the liquidators are the correct ones as I’ve checked but it doesn’t feel right and neither do I feel right claiming for something that I never had a right to…just wondering if anyone else had similar letter ?

Surely it's simple. You've never held shares, so don't give away a load of personal details to someone who says otherwise.0

Alternatively, write to the liquidator enclosing a copy of the letter. Explain that you are not aware of any shareholding and you have certainly never purchased any shares directly. See if they can explain. Is it possible that you worked for a company in the past which was part of a group which gave shares to employees?
