Very dark start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, fried mash/chips, beans and mushrooms - all clean plates.
Now on days off so have the normal "to do" list.

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, enjoy your days off.I meant to get back yesterday but didn't, the day slipped away and I didn't get round to it.We are having some new sheet vinyl laid in the kitchen this afternoon, so we moved the freezer into the living room, and the dishwasher will be joining it this morning. Then it'll all go back when the new flooring is down. I hope it'll look all right, it's about a month since we ordered it and I haven't exactly forgotten what it looks like, but I'm sure you know what I mean.Izzy, your energy provider shouldn't just be increasing your direct debit without telling you surely, We are a few hundred in credit as well. I'm sick of being cold in the house already and we've got months of it ahead yet. We have our heated throws and thermal underwear though, so there's not a lot more we can do.The air fryer sounds good Rosy, they are very popular, my Dil loves hers, says she uses it every day. I've got my combi microwave, halogen oven and slow cooker, and I think they'll have to do, I don't use the double oven much. Corned beef hash sounds good, we love it, think I'll put some in the slow cooker for this evening, it's an easy meal.Snoozer, hope Laura's finger will be ok,, can't believe Esben is coming up 3, where's that time gone!Coxy and Nelski, hope your Mums are both all right, Nanny, my dad used to blame me for everything! And the things that he thought that "I should have known" were many.Everyone sounds busy, hope you all have a good day today, take care folks.11

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, enjoy your days off.
Very cold this morning but should be dry today, I have bedding in the WM that I'll peg out before I go to work. Washed a big dressing gown and a coat yesterday, they have almost dried in the living room overnight with the remains of the fire although the rest of the house was quite chilly. I took a couple of hot water bottles to bed to keep me cosy.
Hope Laura's finger is ok snoozer.
I rarely use my oven but have a halogen oven that gets used regularly, there's also an oven in the microwave but I don't use that very often.
That's shocking Izzy, hope you can get hold of the energy company to explain themselves.
Went to Morrisons on my way home last night - I ordered a couple of tops on 5th October, got an email on the 12th to say the order was on it's way then nothing. The store didn't have the order so went online and cancelled it (quite a faff). Lo and behold got an email last night to say the order was in store! Don't want the tops now as I bought them in store in the end so will have to go back to return them from the store.
Right, must go in the shower, thankfully one lot of road works has gone so it should be a quicker drive.
Take care everyone, keep warm! XX

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Crikey what a cold start! My phone said it was 3 deg outside at 6.00. I have succumbed to the heating for a short time. I was over £700 in credit by last month and I am more than glad of that credit cushion now the weather is on the change.
A spending day today unfortunately. It's the vets again so I will be looking at at least £75. Maybe more if she has the anti-biotic injection as well as I am struggling getting the tablets down her now. But I love her to bits so I grin and bear it when presented with the bill.
I made a bit of a head start on the Friday Tidy yesterday as I probably won't feel inclined to start when I got back. I think the weather spurred me on as the sunshine streaming through the windows showed every bit of dust up!!
The Trago talk took me back many years to our annual 2 weeks in Cornwall when the kids were young. Trago Mills was our rainy day go to and what you couldn't buy in there wasn't worth having anyway!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. I hope the poorly mums are on the mend and Laura's finger too. Have a good day folks and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all,
Fundraiser last night was good - bring n buy sale. I donated a candle, a tealight holder, some clarins face wash and a journal. Came away with plant pots, some soap, and a book. Collected DMum en route and she was back to her usual cold, unemotional self - really don't think she likes either DSis or me very much tbh! Where's that charabanc?
Sorry to alarm you @Gers - the show is very funny too! Enjoy!
Annoying about your clothing order @camelot1001
Hope Laura's doing okay @snoozer
Am a tad annoyed with BGas - we pay £350/month for our dual fuel and are currently £1275 in credit. I haven't had a bill prepared since 29 August despite sending in monthly meter readings. I've asked for a monthly figure, just so I know what's what, and they've said if they do that, I will need to pay that amount in full each month, instead of a fixed monthly payment? I'm also not eligible for a refund. What to do? I've sent in a complaint, so will see what comes of that as next bill not due until 31 December.
Dinner tonight is SC chilli con carne - DS1 and his fiancee are coming and we are discussing their wedding plans. We are going to contribute to the pot but don't want to be seen to interfere - it's a fine balance!!
Have a good day all,

Morning folks. After a gloriously bright, dry and cold Thursday it's now horribly cloudy and wet Friday. I slept a bit later than usual, only about half and hour but I feel better for it.Yesterday I did a few little jobs which caught my eye, so rather than ignore them I sorted them out. Now I feel more virtuous than I really should!Again, today is fluid. I've taken soup out of the freezer along with a couple of cooked sausages ready for lunch.Coxy - you didn't alarm me too much, I knew that it was very un-PC. Reading the plot on Wikipedia made me gasp and laugh equally. Now I'm really looking forward it. 😀I can't understand how you're 'not eligible for a refund' Coxy so please cause a fuss with BG. I pay my power bill in full each month so no credit or debt builds up though there'll be some excess now as I don't use anything like £66.00 worth of electricity and don't have mains gas. There's no chance of me turning on the electric radiators, the snuggly electric throw, electric blanket, woodburner and an array of jumpers and thermals will see me through this winter. I've never really liked centrally heated homes much.Hugs to our poorlies and those who are fed up. Happy Friday to all.11

Morning all, another lovely day but there was a touch of ground frost when I took Ly1a out, currently saying 3 degrees. I too put the heating on for an hour. I think the time's approaching for me to set it to auto for an hour before we get up.The hot water comes on 1st thing, also for an hour, we used to have it on at teatime too but have found we don't need to as it's still plenty hot enough, I had a bath before bed and it was fine, but it is a big tank.Scarlet- enjoy your corned beef hashCamelot- I always forget that my microwave can be used as a convection oven !TA, hope the vet bill isn't too highCoxy, annoying of BGas, you'd think they'd be more helpful at a time like this. Exciting about DS wedding, my cousin who picked me up yesterday had her eldest son's wedding in August, and now her youngest has set a date for next year. She made the bridesmaids dresses for the little ones, and her DGD has requested that ' grandma make my wedding dress
'
No idea what's for tea- I'll dig something out of the freezer in a mo.Hope you all have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12 -
Morning all
Dry and bright here after another day and night of heavy rain, the ground is sodden !
Day off for me and nothing much to do which is bliss, I shall have a quick tidy round this morning and then get the dogs out for a walk, then this afternoon I shall maybe watch a film and have a snooze
Pizza and salad for dinner nice and easy, dw has been emptied this morning and I have put a wash on.
The energy bills are frightening, we have not put our heating on yet and are just using the log burner and electric blankets at night, I will try and not put it on till I absolutly have to, the fire heats all of downstairs and some heat gets through to upstairs so we will manage for a while.
Have good days all xxx10 -
Morning everyone we have a frost this morning but nice and bright just popped to Lidl for crumpets and yogurt didn’t need anything else we have a choice between them and Aldi I think I will just go to Aldi from now on it’s so much better stocked and the staff are so pleasant they are a miserable bunch in Lidl one in particular you hardly dare speak to I asked him the other week for something and he glared at me then said if we had any they would be on the shelf then I heard him telling some other member of staff why do people ask for things that they can clearly see we have none to which she answered it’s just human nature don’t let them get to you I must be getting soft in my old age I should have said something.Scarlet I hope you vinyl fitting goes alright they come to put mine down and when they took the old one up I ended up getting a whole new floor I am getting a new front door fitted this morning then that’s the whole downstairs done now hopefully I won’t see another workman for a while but at least the house isn’t upside down for this job then it’s saving every penny to start on the bathrooms but that’s a couple of years away.I’m another that hasn’t had the heating on but we have the log burner lit for a couple of hours every day and plenty of throws and layers on last one today then a week off I can’t wait my back is broken roll on 5 o clock.thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all, the sun is shining and there's a good breeze, so I have put a load of clothes in the wm, I'll give the sofa throws a wash too. Sorry to hear about all the energy woes, I hope they can be sorted asap.
Today I think I'll be on the hunt for a charger as Mr Fix It has found our electric throw and power pack but no charger, it's old but hasn't been used very much. Our fleece throws are warm but won't be warm enough for the colder weather so I'm going to bring down one of our 'van blankets for me, it's king size (and heavy) so will go on me double when sitting on the sofa. I just don't want to pay the energy bills until absolutely necessary, I'm feeling obstinate 😠
We had a halogen oven which I loved, but when that died we bought a ninja foodie max and I'm still learning how to cook things, but I don't really use it to it's full potential. We've been watching a married couple on Utube as they cook with theirs, yesterday they cooked a xmas cake. I should be more adventurous.
Thanks Scarlet and Gers I'm a sucker for punishment so I'll ring him again tonight and I hope his meds come today, although I haven't had mine yet either (same surgery and ordered the same day)
Coxy the charabanc was put in moth balls after Nelski's DM wasn't in need of it, but I'll get it back out and do the rounds. My Dad will be the first on it though 😂 Australia here he comes!!
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
