If you wear glasses, what is best for gaming and communicating online?

Options
My child wears glasses and currently uses a headset, but he says that this is uncomfortable for long periods. Is there a type of headset more suitable for glasses wearer or is it just a case of trying different ones? The other option is to use a mic but he prefers his conversations to remain private.
Thanks

You can get headphones with built-in mic that are similar to the in-ear type.  Something like this:

Though bear in mind headphones (and mics) in terms of quality you get what you pay for.

On the ear, or in ear headphones are more comfortable with glasses than over the ear ones, in my experience. A lot of them have built in mics these days.

You raise two concerns - How old is the child and what control do you have? Whilst he might like it all to be private you have a duty of care.
There are plenty of stories of children getting tangled up with unsavoury characters, beiing bullied and running up debts. Whilst you may say *my child would not do anything like that* sadly that so often is not true. I personally know of several cases where such things have happened.
It may well be uncomfortable with the present arrangement but perhaps that might actually be for the best.
  • When I said my child, he just turned 16, so I do respect his privacy at this age.
but yes, always worth highlighting the need for privacy versus duty. Thank you

To answer you question, If you can try a couple of pairs of headphones for comfort maybe in Currys, the ones with the softer padding are better for glasses wearers as they don't press onto the glasses.
It is, as you suspected, a matter of trial and error. Also try 'On Ear' headphones as opposed to the full cup ones.
