I was going to post this in "I wanna buy it or o it", but I think Techie might give speedier results.

Years ago, perhaps 15, when there were still 5" floppies - remember them? - I had a game on one of them called Shamus or Seamus. It's about this guy trying to get from one place to another crossing several storeys, corridors and stairs, and at each corner and turn he has to shoot baddies or get a key, or be careful he doesn't stumble on poison and stuff like that.

I had it on a 5" floppy at work, no mouse, and used the arrows and spacebar. It was great fun, and when I left I was allowed to take the disk even though I had no computer at home. I lost it during a clear out, and now wonder if this game is available somewhere.

And no, I don't do ebay. Anyone knows this game, and/or where I could get it?

Thanks. :)

Thanks for that :) I should have said that I did google it and found this, but it doesn't tell me if I can download it and from where - it only gives ebay and amazon and I don't really want to buy this way. I wanted to download it direct from an online company, but I can't find anything, and I'm not that techie to know the shortcuts and where to look properly... :o

So the best bet's probably to download a C64 emulator and then download the game for it. Found the game at http://www.c64.com/ and there's undoubtedly details of emulators there as well.

    good luck!

  • Quasar - you can download a PC version.. just search on google for "Shamus
abandonware". I can't post the link since i'm not sure on the legitimacy of abandonware on MSE.. Ping me if you can't find it

    good luck!

Brings back memorys, of going down WH Smiths to spend £2.99 on a C64 game and having to take it back a week later when I found my C64 tape deck wouldn't read the find.

Just played some of my favourites:-
