Nat West - account number etc??

Just opened a Nat West reward account, and have my e-mail to say -
We're
really pleased to let you know that your Reward account is now activated and
ready to use.
Where can I find my account details?
You can view your confirmation letter in your NatWest App or Online Banking Mailbox. It contains important account details like your sort code and account number.

Great - but I can't access the app, or online banking, or telephone support, without my sort code and account number!! Any idea how I am supposed to access my account details??
Frustrated already.....

The normal login process for Nat West online banking doesn't require your account number, just a pin, a password and a customer reference number that they give you (which I think consists of a combination of your birth date and a unique reference). Are you sure your account number is required ? After all people can have multiple Nat West accounts that they'd access under the same online service, so linking the login to a specific account isn't really logical.0

Thanks. Any idea when and how do they give me a pin, password and customer reference number?

I think you choose the pin and password yourself, although I guess you may be given default ones to start with.Have you actually tried installing the app or going to the online banking web page to see what it asks for ?0 -

I'm in the process of switching and even though I received my account info, set password and pin right away I couldn't access my account online but this morning I received 2 emails:
1: your account is up and running
2: current account switch has started including switch date (wasn't able to choose date)
Since receiving email ño1 I've been able to sign into banking app and have full access; I do have a query on a few things so I've called them x5 times and been cut off x5 times which is somewhat frustrating1 -

How did you receive your account info and get to set a pin??

Customer numbers are as @Poohsticks states, combination of your birthday and four other numbers.
It was some time ago but mine came via letters for both NatWest and RBS, whether you still require the customer number via the post I can't say but it doesn't seem to ask for it via their online registration page.
This is where you set up your password and PIN, your account number and sort code should have been given to you at the end of the account opening process, have you no record of these?

When you get your debit card and pin, go into branch and make a cash/cheque deposit. Make sure you ask for a receipt as that will have your sort code and account number on it.1

Last time I opened a Natwest account I got the customer number by email and that same email told me that I would need an activation code to login online. The activation code is sent by text if they have your mobile number, otherwise by post.
When you have the customer number and activation code you can set up your online account either via the app or on their website, either way you will set up a pin and password yourself.
If you have opened a Natwest account previously you may already have a customer number (it's customer specific not account specific).0
