Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark, wet and windy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was chicken breast roast with stuffing, mash, veg, LO yorkshires (from the freezer)and gravy - very nice it was too!
Short work day today then on days off until Monday. Short week next week then the following week I'm off also - need some time off, can't wait.
Keeps safe and well x

Morning all.Heavy rain and driving winds have been raging all night, now it's all calm. I woke about an hour ago for a comfort break, since then I've been lying in bed just looking at the sky which is full of stars. It's such a joy. I'm sure that clouds and dawn will soon come along, meanwhile I'm enjoying the show.Yesterday I foolishly decided to nip out into town before the rain started. Only made it one mile before the heavens opened and the deluge battered down but I kept going. Luckily I found a parking space on the Main Street right outside the wee shops. I wanted to restock my Night Nurse as the bottle I had was UB 2019. Then I went to the butcher for some belly pork strips. 🤤 Yes, I got drenched but the belly pork with my lentil soup was so delicious that it was worth it.Today is fluid, perhaps it's time to write some overdue emails. 🤷♀️Happy Thursday to all.11

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. After yesterday's bitterly cold wind we are promised quite a pleasant day = no rain, no wind and intermittent sunny spells.
I'm just enjoying a second coffee before rousing up the girls. Sausage sandwiches were requested again so they are in the air fryer ready and waiting to go on. DD will be back this afternoon to pick them up from school and then calling for the mountain of stuff they thought it was necessary to bring with them!
I made the promised bus ride to Ilkley yesterday (in the wind and rain) so DS's DP's birthday gift is complete. After the YSC shop I had a browse in FatFace and came out with a couple of sale items at half price. A pair of slippers (much needed) and a big floaty Moroccan style scarf (which wasn't needed but I really liked it!)
Once the girls have gone to school I need to do a bit of tidying up and cleaning. It looks as though a bomb has dropped. And before I forget I am not overly impressed with this year's Bake Off either. I think they are running out of sensible ideas for themes. I watched the new Masterchef last night and I am missing Monica already!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. And I hope the recuperating mums are doing ok. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Before my update, I just wanted to give a huge shout out and thank you to @Gers for the PMs regarding what we might be able to claim for DMum and advice on the POA. Hugely appreciate the help @Gers and very much value being part of this supportive thread
It's been raining all night and is set for the day I think. I did extreme ironing last night and managed to get my step count up to 8.5k before bed, which was good! Today I have to post an Ebay parcel - found an old Bose speaker dock under the stairs so that's winging its way to Liverpool later. I also need to get some cash out as I'm going to a fundraiser for our JoGLE at DSis's tonight. I'm picking DMum up en route - she sounds brighter but it will be better to actually see her.
SC gammon last night will do us for lunch today and I will freeze the remainder. Dinner tonight is a prawn and chilli spaghetti recipe from SW.
I'm intrigued by Trago @-taff - is it a one-off or are they a chain?
Loving the sound of cheesy bean pie @RedRuby1231 - might have to try that one!
Hope your DMum enjoyed the Blackpool trip @Nelski
Hugs to all the poorlies and those struggling xx

Morning all
It's gloomy and windy on the Kent coast. Last night's dinner was lush: beef stew, dumplings, HG cabbage and mash from the freezer. Tonight we're having pork and cider casserole. Off scrubbing in a bit then I have a few days off. Have a good day all 😊10 -
Morning everyone Coxy pleased your mum seems to be getting better you will feel happier when you have seen her what a worry. It’s blown a hoolie all night but it’s calm and dry now I was really annoyed yesterday when I checked my bank I am 400 pounds in credit with my energy yet they have taken another 30 pounds a month on my direct debit no warning I have the app and I have just got my last bill and no mention of it I’m not happy I will give them a ring next week I have a week off work and it takes so long to get through to them no use sending a email they never respond the good news is I am getting my new front door fitted tomorrow that’s all the work downstairs done I I won’t have to see a workman for a while hurray.I made enough chicken stew in the slow cooker for last night and tonight so that’s nice and easy I don’t mind having the same thing two nights running and it was lovely off to work now back in at 5 looking forward to my week off NMLC you will be next .thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning everyone
It was very windy here from teatime yesterday and all through the night - rain pouring down too. Nice blue sky this morning and calm so I should get the crocuses I bought potted up later. Need to walk down to the shops for some bread and bits this morning too.
I got a real bargain yesterday - a second hand dolls pram for little one's birthday at the beginning of January - it looks like new and only cost me £20. I'll have to take it down to hide in the garage at mam and dads house until her birthday. I just need a new doll to go in it and that's her birthday sorted. For Christmas I've got her a wooden pirate ship and pirates and a wooden ice cream set ( the ice creams stack up with magnets ). Haven't bought anything for adults yet though.
Well I'm going to get moving - hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning all,It's gone a bit nippy here but we have blue skies and sun. I am off out for lunch with 3 of my cousins later. It's been ages as the one I see most & who will pick me up has been recovering from an op, and the other 2 have moved house, so I'm looking forward to it. The house has seemed very quiet since DH has been out supervising the new extension job, and DS is out all week.Yesterday DS2s new ninja got delivered here. Rang to tell him and he said I might as well unpack it & check it, so I did the water test first to check the pressure was ok & got used to the controls, then I dug out a cake mix lurking at the back of the cupboard. There was quite a lot so I put half in my Ngrill on bake, then the other half in his on steam bake , which is a function new to me, bit of guesswork as to times. Both turned out well, which was a good thing as he picked DGD up and dropped her here to do her homework while he went for DGS from his Craft club. She saw me messing and we got talking about meals, tatty hash made with corned beef being her favourite, volunteered to help me make it if they could stay for tea. Quick call to her Dad to check it was ok. She peeled all the spuds and chopped them, so last nights menu for the men got swapped as there was loads for everyo ne, and not much cake left either
.We don't often get chance midweek these days to all eat together so it was nice, and saved him a job when they got home
Right I'd better get out of my scruffs and get ready to go out.Well done for helping Coxy, Gers - very thoughtful. This is a great thread !Bye for now and have good days x
