Up cycling our bedside tables...!

Hey everyone,
We have some bedside tables which are 100% fit for purpose, however, the colour is just naff now. They were once a nice cream but it somehow looks quite yellow and custard like in our room!.. They are solid wood top, vsrbishdd, and three drawers, painted.
I'm thinking...
1. Sand all over, especially the top, perhaps back to bare wood on the top.
2. Osmo polyx or similar in the wood
3. Prime the (keyed) painted wood to aid adhesion - prime with zinsser 123.
4. Paint with some decent satinwood paint - perhaps little greene, perhaps something else.
Foam roller and brush to apply paint, denibbing in between coats.
Will that work, or, have I missed something?!
Never done anything to pre made furniture before. I know the IKEA type stuff is a nightmare as it's not really panted but more like plastic.. But I figure this stuff is sprayed on a factory or something.
Ideas and thoughts most welcome!
