Caravan Sites and energy support payments
I am not sure if anyone can help but I have tried all other methods of trying to find the information I need. I work for an organisation that manages a gypsy and travellers site. The residents have come to me asking about how they will receive their energy payments as they are on smart meters but don’t hold the electric accounts in their name as the supply is in the organisations name. The usage is then recharged back to the resident. I just wondered if anyone had any information on this?

The £400 is for people with a domestic electricity account with a supplier, so they will not be eligible for the current payments.
There is the intention to provide alternative funding for people who don't meet the account requirements, but absolutely no detail yet whatsoever.
So far:"Energy Bill Support Scheme Alternative Funding
This scheme is intended to provide the £400 of support for households across the UK that would otherwise miss out on the Energy Bills Support Scheme – which the vast majority of households are already receiving – as they do not have a domestic electricity contract. … The Alternative Funding will provide the full support this winter, with an announcement on this in due course. The Bill will provide powers to deliver the funding through designated bodies."
"If you’re not connected to the grid
Those households not on standard gas or electricity contracts, such as those living in park homes or on heat networks – and so outside the scheme – will receive support equivalent to both the Energy Price Guarantee and the Energy Bills Support Scheme.
The business which has the direct commercial relationship with the energy supplier (for example the park owner) will receive support via the Energy Bill Relief Scheme and we will act now to introduce legislation so that they have to pass the benefit directly on to residents. Customers do not need to take any action in order to receive this support, which they will receive by the end of the year."
Which also means the residents have some protection in that organisations cannot charge more for supply than they pay.
