Sub metered Gas and Electricity Tenants

My tenants occupy part of my property, which has its own Council Tax but is sub metered.  Hence it doesn't appear to be covered by the Parks or District Energy Scheme provisions.  Does anyone know how they can claim the Government support?

There has been talk about a fund to provide equivalent support to those without an electricity account in their name, but as yet there are no details about how this is to be accessed, so right now your tenants cannot make a claim.

Why don't you get the separate dwelling place properly wired on it's own meter? You can't profit from reselling, so I can see no point in having to recharge it. to your tenants.
If it's a separate dwelling place for CT purposes, how can it be 'part of your property? It's a separate property, even if physically adjacent.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Part of Grade 2* Listed Building not physically separate.  Difficult to arrange dedicated electricity and gas supplies. Utilities charged at cost sharing standing charges, so saving tenant, not taking profit.  Separate Council Tax but forming part of property on Deeds.
