Restart Scheme Trick!

I am on Restart Scheme and they are asking for my CV but won't say why.
Another claimant told me "Don't give your CV because they will use Set-up-to-Sanction on you" which surprised me.
I have heard online that this trick is to apply for something without your knowledge and say you refused meet their sanction targets.
I am already going through the sanction process so can't afford another so can I refuse to give over my CV.

How can they help you get a job without a CV. It's a basic application requirement for most jobs, so they want to check it's up to date and fit for purpose. Are you for real about the sanction, if so, you do realise they could request a sanction be placed on your claim for failing to provide a CV.
Sanctions can be applied for failing to comply, failing to engage, failing to attend, the list goes on and there really is no need to set you up to get a sanction. Most people only get sanctioned as they do this kind of "trick" but only tricks themselves.6 -
I can categorically tell you that there are no sanction targets in DWP.DWP pay large sums of money to Restart providers for them to help and support you. Why would you not want to engage with them and receive the extra help and support?6

Why would you not want to engage with them and receive the extra help and support?Because they don't actually help you? That's been the case donkey years - they take the cash and provide the minimum of support possible and then dump you back with the jobcentre.OP, best bet is just give 'em a janky CV to keep them sweet. They most probably won't do anything with it anyway.2

According to the stats they they have helped 7% of people into work (although it is not clear if they left or found work) so probably less than 7%.
It is just another garbage nonsense waste of tax payers money, i would refuse your CV and just test what they do, if they sanction then offer the CV cos they could probably make one using you personal data on file, applying on your behalf is a bit in the grey area of legality i think. I don't think a sanctioned person can be re-sanctioned again for a while anyway.
I was unemployed during labour government and we were forced to sit in a room looking at out of date newspapers Monday to Friday 9 to five for six months for 70 squid a week in the hope we would leave the dole so it seems that nothing changes unfortunately this scheme will and should be axed as the latest failure along with New deal etc.

Good ol' New Deal. A so-called "charity" tried to make me do a months work for my dole in a parcel depot. Never did a day.

Given that all the best jobs are given to people who are already working, why would anybody who is not working make things difficult for those who are trying to help them to find work? I just don't understand that.4

I agree with kaMelo, making life difficult for someone that is being paid to try to help you is disrespectful, both to the person and the society that is paying for the help to be given. Please engage with the process as well as you possibly can. We know it's difficult, but if you shun the help being offered, you cannot complain that you weren't offered help.
If the service isn't good enough, do something about it. Complain to the provider, complain to the funder, write to your MP.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.5
