Registering the freehold

I have been trying to remortgage for nearly 2 years, but due to a freehold issue on my property, I lost the offers as they expired.
I have recently purchased the freehold and moved forward with a new offer with my current mortgage provider.
It was all going through quickly, then a couple of weeks ago I received a letter to say my offer had been withdrawn, the reason I was given was because there was a problem with the lease.
I got in touch with my solicitor who was dealing with this, and has been really slow with the whole process, I explained that I had been asked to provide a letter to say this was going through. My solicitor would not do this but sent over the completed TR1 form. Although this was proof of the purchase, the mortgage company wanted proof it had been submitted to the land registry, all they wanted was an application number.
I have emailed and phoned my solicitor, he has ignored my calls, and his responses to the emails have been vague. I have contacted the land registry twice, the last being yesterday, and they have advised me that this has not been submitted.
again I have bet. In touch with solicitor and he has not got back to me.

I am at risk of losing my 3rd mortgage offer because of the delays.
Is there anyone who could give me some advice on the best way to move forward. I was thinking of going to the Ombudsman.

Register for property alerts for the address - https://propertyalert.landregistry.gov.uk/propertyalert/ - and see if you get a pending charge or change alert by return email - this should include the application number.
You can then also request it is expedited (normally via a solicitor) if there is good cause to do so.1 -
Ombudsman will take too long, and you need to get a final reply to the complaints first.
I would call and ask the receptionist to tell you who to send a complaint to, then send by email and in writing, with the header clearly saying COMPLAINT.
Also send an email with read receipt to the person dealing with it, saying that you require asap it to be submitted and for you to be sent the application number for the registration of the title. If it is not received you are in danger of losing the mortgage due to their inaction and will expect them to pay the difference in the interest.
Keep it very short and as close to a 1 liner as possible so there is no wriggle room for them.
