Getting a cat with no cat flap?

Mine have access to a catio, but only when I'm there to open the door for them, and they're happy enough. I don't think there's a right or wrong way to give cats outside access, just what suits both them and you.0

I used to let my cat out when I was home all day/for the day, she could come in/out as she pleased then was called in evening time to eat and stayed in after that overnight.
To be fair she basically hibernated and wouldn't ask to go out come October/November and then not again until Spring0 -
I have a 1 bed flat and now have a 7 month old cat living with me, he's indoor only as I'm third floor and he's super happy with his life (I think!). He has a window seat which he loves sitting in to look out of, lots of toys boinging around the floor or hanging from doorways, he sometimes spends time with a neighbour in her flat as she also has an indoor cat and they get on well together. I mostly work fro home but there are days when I'm out all day or overnight and he's fine. I have cameras to check in on him too and a key safe at my front door just in case I need anyone to pop in. This may not work for you but just wanted to share my experience in case it helped; I thought long and hard about getting Dave because of my situtation but now I couldn't live without him - he's one spoilt feline!Really should be doing some work...2

If they have a mind to they will find somebody nearby to visit. Probably act as a living hot water bottle for some little old lady and save her a few shillings in the meter!1 -

The adoption places are very strict though so I'll see how it goes.

A friend with a very small flat has ensure her cat is entertained by leaving CatTV on when she's at work. Bascially it's non stop nature programmes featuring birds, squirrels etc.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards.
