Very dark start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was spag bol, all eaten and enjoyed.
Work wasn't too bad yesterday only half day today at the other office - hopefully that will be ok.

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, enjoy your half day.
Damp and gloomy here, it's due to get worse as the day goes on with very high winds and lashing rain - can't wait!
More road works appeared in two different places yesterday causing more chaos in the local area, will leave a little earlier this morning.
I met up with some very good friends after work for a pizza and a chat, lovely it was too. I was going to go back to the next town to pick up an Argos order but the traffic put paid to that, will go on the way home today if I can.
Enjoy your company TA, bolognese bake tonight?
Glad you're feeling a bit better dp1, take it easy.
Hope your DM had a good day out Nelski.
What a scare Coxy, your poor Mum. Hope she's recovering well.
Have a good day and stay safe from this horrid weather. Take care. XX12 -
Morning all
Slept really well last night for a change. Didnt wake up once according to my watch and that's a rare occurrence.
Hair cut was uneventful so that's done for as long as I can put it off again.
Today I have some house bits to do and a lot of paper work. I was planning to make a cake for mums birthday in a week or so but it seems the home make a fuss of her on the day along with a big cake so ill have to think again.
Laughing at the thought of Matt Hancock in the jungle this year what's the bet he's the one getting all the challenges, he its going to suffer
Food last night was sausage mash and gravy. Tonight I'm fancying some hot sin prawns and rice.
Have a good day all
ETA no news on the grand day out to Blackpool yet hope to hear later12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It looks a bit gloomy out there but at least it's fine - for now!
The girlies will be to waken up shortly to be organised for school. Sausage sandwiches have been requested for breakfast so some are cooking in the air fryer in readiness! CAMELOT it was Pasta Bake last night! The hairdresser messaged she was stuck in roadworks and running late so I got a pan of Bolognese on the go whilst I was waiting! I had to message BFF and arrange a slightly later meet up. As usual much talking and a nice (naughty) lunch enjoyed.
Once the girls have been picked up for school (another school mum doing the honours) I think I might take the bus to Ilkley and peruse the Yorkshire Soap Co shop for a pressie for DS's DP's birthday. I have already bought half of it . She is difficult to buy for as she has a jewellery and gifts shop so she can buy that sort of stuff for herself! I'll be back in plenty of time for the girls after school. I think it may be pizzas tonight.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. COXY I hope your DM is recovering well. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all.Great to read about haircuts, DGC and fun nights with friends. All the white washing load yesterday was hung on the airer with the dehumidifier going. (14 pairs of knickers this time) The duvet cover is draped over the bannister. Only the fitted sheet needs more time, the corners are a bit damp still. I did a swift trip to town for firelighters and a clicky flame thing.Today is forecasted to be stormy and cold so it may be time to break out the heated throw. The sky is very dark and threatening looking so I'm glad about staying in. I've plenty of soup to fill me up (yesterday I ate like a mad thing 😞 so don't need much today.Blooming GBBO is more annoying than ever. Making spring rolls and a dipping sauce is not baking, it's cooking. Maybe it's time to not watch it anymore.I hope that everyone is safe, warm and well. Happy Wednesday to all.12

Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
Thanks for the well wishes for DMum. Hoping it's not the start of 'something' but we shall see... We saw The Banshees of Inisherin last night - a great film for many reasons. Catch it if you can.
Puppy is here for the remainder of the week, so I'll be taking him out today. Looks to be a damp day so will need to choose my moment. Steps haven't been anywhere near 10k the last few days so need to rectify that.
I'll cook some gammon in the SC today for tonight's dinner. We will have it with cauli cheese, brussells, carrots, broccoli and stringless beans. There is also extreme ironing to do plus I need to mend the seam on a top and a dress. I managed to adapt a jumper I knitted a good few years ago. It's cotton and was knitted using two balls of yarn at the same time - I remember it being quite challenging. Anyway, it came up quite boxy and sat on the hips which I didn't like once it was finished so I've only worn it a couple of times. I've added a crocheted border of about 4 inches and will sew the ends in tonight. Means I will now wear it more!! Also struck lucky at a CS yesterday lunchtime. An M&S cable/fairisle sleeveless sweater in grey, navy and white. So soft and warm, and only £5. Will look great with a long-sleeved navy top and jeggings so that's tomorrow's outfit sorted!
Have a good day all and hugs to the poorlies.

Morning all
Dry and bright here and a good day in store, we had more heavy rain last night so the ground is still very soggy.
Two clients coming today both lads and both up for most things, I think we will have a walk along the beach with a picnic and them get them an ice creamthey actually pay for themselves but I have to buy one of the lads stuff and claim it back as his mum spends all of his money on fags and booze
Dinner tonight will be pork chops and vegetable rice, I will prep the veg today at some point.
Coxy I hope your mum is ok xxx
DP1 cheesy bean pie is something I made up and very simple, just put a tin of baked beans in a casserole dish, top with mash and then cheese on top and bake in the oven, its a really cheap dish which came in handy when I was a single parent, and its very tasty and children love it, DD is grown up now but she still loves it !
Have good days all xxx11 -

Ruby I used to make cheesy bean pie when my kids were little another single parent here and my youngest son is 35 still loves it . Damp and dull here I’m praying for rain over the weekend as my poor little dog is petrified of fireworks not long to go now we have had a couple of scares but nothing to bad yet . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that want them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning everyone
Dull and drizzly here this morning and forecast to get very windy later. I'll have a walk down to Farmfoods to get some milk when I'm sorted and might look in Homebase to see if they have any crocuses.
Spoke to my boss yesterday and I'm to have the rest of the week off and hopefully go back next Monday.
Nice chat with eldest DD in Germany yesterday - she had the day off for a Bank holiday. She'd had too much wine the night before and was feeling sorry for herself..no sympathy from me!
Redruby - thank you I'll make it next time little one and I have sausages - she'll love it.
Coxy - I'd seen that our cinema was showing that film but I wasn't sure if I fancied it - good to have a recommendation.
Nelski - I think he must be getting paid so so much money to do it - he's going to be given every challenge going - the rest of them could have an easy time.
Well I'm going to get moving. Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Morning all, today we seem to have another dry morning in store, then everything goes downhill.
I enjoyed watching DGD in her riding lesson, she's come on leaps and bounds since last time I saw her. DD wasn't very happy though as she was bitten on her neck by a buzzing insect, it may have been a horse fly as we didn't see the culprit. DGS came to keep Mr Fix It company, but I don't know who was babysitting who as DGS is at least a foot taller than me now 😲 but still as soft as pudding 😁 Tea was fish and chips from the chippie accompanied with lots of laughter and daftness.
I have a sm delivery booked for this morning with only one sub, then I have nothing else planned for the rest of the day. Tea, no idea yet, we will decide later, there'll be plenty in and I'll no longer be twitchy about a half empty freezer!
Have a good Wednesday everyone.
Take care, stay safe and well.
