Morning everyone
The rain has been pouring down during the night but it's nice and bright this morning. Yesterday got out lovely - I spent an hour or so doing some tidying in the back garden, with little kitten running round chasing leaves...when I was finished I rattled her biscuit tin and she came running back in. I've never had an obedient kitten before - perhaps it's because she's a girl!
Lots of trick or treaters last night - my sweets were finished before 6pm. I switched the front light off and no-one else knocked after that. All very polite and said Thank You apart from two bigger boys who I told to say it! My niece brought little nephew up - I was suitably scared by his skeleton costume and pretended not to know who it was. He didn't realise, aged 5, that he was standing next to his mum, had arrived in her car and said Trick or Treat Auntie D!
So today I'm going to have a walk down to mam and dads as I haven't seen them since the beginning of last week. I didn't want to pass on any germs but I really think it's just the long covid giving me a bad week and I've just got to try to get on with things.
Redruby - glad your ladies got on well yesterday - I had wondered if they took their baking home too How do you make cheesy bean pie?
Coxy - hope your mum is ok and glad yours is Nelski
TA - enjoy your sleepover - hope you've plenty food in. I think we all know what's for tea tomorrow!
Better get moving. Hope everyone has a good day x

Monring all. Road trip to Wales for me this morning along with OHs mum and her friend. They want to go to a clothes shop I've been watching on FB and no time like the present...We will probably stop off in Trago as well when we're there. Good job I've got a big boot. The weather was absolutely atrocious last night, I kept waking up to howling wind and rain like drum beats. Seems to have blown itself out now thank god, wouldn't have fancied motorway driving today otherwise. Made enchiladas last night so they are there to reheat when I get home. Thats the size of my day.Ruby, glad they relieve the pressure on you!
Coxy, how awful for her, and you all, I bet she's glad to be rallied round. Nels, great news about your mum, can you not sneak on board with her?
Izzy, no laughing, good on you taking steps [ and you do enough of those anyway!] camelot, with you on smells, I have to vet any smellies OH buys , not that he buys an awful lot. Scarlet, OH is another one who hadn't heard of turnip carving, he was suitably impressed when I showed him but didn't realise they would have candles in there too, so I had to find some of those to show him...We didn't have any knocks either but even if we had, we were both out around that time, him in work, me shopping, absolutely on purpose..
Bah halloween humbug
Look after yourselves all, do some pampering....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11 -
Hi everyone,
Coxy, I hope your mum recovers quickly.
Camelot, I had a colleague who spent a lot of her day sighing which was quite annoying. I hope you get the smell sorted.
We had a lovely day yesterday, had lunch in Kirkby Lonsdale and then a walk around Sedburgh. However, I got out of the car and realised that I was wearing one black and one blue otherwise identical boots so today will be a trip to Boundary Mill to find something to wear at the funeral tomorrow.
We have decided to go home after the funeral, poor Laura and Crystal are both really struggling at the moment for various reasons and we'd rather be there to help out. We can come back up here after things settle down.
Have a good day.9 -
Hello all, it's persisting down here and has been since about 5pm yesterday. No trick or treaters here either last night as it was far too wet to go wandering the street. I got most of the washing dried yesterday but we relented and put the heating on for a couple of hours, so I finished off drying the bedding and had a lovely soak in the bath in a warm bathroom, bliss !
Sadly, I learnt last night that another elderly neighbour (4 doors down) has passed away, she was 86 and was still working until she was 80 😥 Now there are only 2 neighbours left that were residing in the street before us, I remember when we were the new family!
Another one who didn't sleep well last night with lots of tossing and turning then many dreams that didn't make any sense. Today I have a few things to do, mend my house joggers which have developed a small hole, then rub some candle wax on the zip of my coat as it was quite hard to move up and down yesterday. I also need to tidy the office (ROD) as the messy elf has been rifling in there and not putting things back tidily....not me for a change !! The dw needs emptying too so I might give that job to Mr Fix It as penance for making a mess. This afternoon DD will collect me and we'll go to watch DGD horse riding as she is having a private lesson as part of her birthday present.
taff safe journey today and enjoy mooching around in Trago.
Nelski I hope Mum enjoys Blackpool and her fish and chips.
Coxy hugs to your mum, hope she's ok.
dp1 and Snoozer hope you feel better soon
Izzy good luck with the skipping rope and I promise no sniggering, scouts honour.
Sorry I have forgotten everything else that's been said.
Take care and hugs to all.

Morning all, November already
> We didn't have any trick ot treaters, hardly any children on our road.It was a horrendous night anyway. I had a nice day with DGS yesterday, he's very good company. We decided to have a walk up to the park, luckily stayed fine.We went in the cafe & he had some chips for his lunch and the obligatory ice cream. It was quite busy, he said there were quite a few ' old' people in , I know a few of them by sight & I think they go for the company. It's run by the Lancs wildlife trust & they seem to organise a few things, which is good. DS2 picked him up for his special football training, luckily his foot wasn't sore yesterday but he's booked in at a physio this week as a precaution.
I had a morries delivery earlier. It seemed easier to unpack as they still use bags rather than the crates T use that you have to transfer into your own bags, so just a matter of carrying the bags through. They do take the bags back to recycle next time though. It seemed dear but I did get extras to put away for Xmas, and used a £11 off voucher too.Camelot hope you get to see your friend. I'm funny about smells too, ladies sat at the front of me on the bus wearing strong perfume, though that is preferable to the very unwashed man who cleared the seats round him the other weekCoxy hope Mum's ok, & Nels mum gets to Blackpool.Snoozer , love Kirkby Lonsdale, hope L & C are ok.Nan- it's messed my sleep up too! Taff enjoy your trip to Wales, bye for now & have good days x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Izzy I tried to show little one how to skip one day in the summer - she commented 'maybes you were better at it before you turned into a granny!' x9
