Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was a takeaway - very nice and enjoyed by us all. Not sure about dinner tonight may be either breaded chicken or fish - will decide later.
Back to work today for me. We'll see how that goes.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, hope work is ok today.
Hope you feel better soon dp1, Covid certainly is the gift that keeps on giving.
The weather doesn't look too good again today, it started to rain when I went for a dip yesterday and just got worse and worse, we've certainly had our fair share of rain this last couple of weeks and no sign of it stopping for a while.
Apart from a bit of light housework and a trip to Aldi I didn't do much, caught up with Gardner's world and sorted out my home insurance - glad that's done for another year. That and the car insurance are the worst of the household jobs for me.
Hope everyone is well, happy Monday, take care. XX11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A fine day forecast for us but the kind weatherman says this will be the last of our mild days, with temps to drop from tomorrow.
I've been MIA all w/e. I've felt under the weather (nowt I could really put my finger on) and all I have wanted to do was feet up, under my throw, and watch rubbish on tv. I feel more myself today so I think I might get the bus along the valley and resume my search for some new cosy fleece pj's. I tried in town last week but I only saw cheap, thrown together ones which wouldn't have lasted two minutes. Nothing seems made to last these days.
I need to make some soup before I sally forth. to keep me going to accompany the weeks lunches. I might make celery for a change but could be swayed by old faithful lentil & bacon. Decisions ...
Have a good day all and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. DP1 I hope you are improving, it's about time your long Covid moved on. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning all.Lighting the woodburner last night was a mistake, I was so hot. 😀 This mild weather is just odd. Mind you, it was also so blooming lovely.Today I've got bits and pieces to sort out as I wait for my cleaner who'll turn up at some point early afternoon. When she appears I'll go out to town for a couple of things. When I drove out on Saturday some local men were starting to build a bonfire on the wee island, it's only accessible at low tide so it takes a bit longer to do. There's now a large pile of pallets on the island which'll become a pyre soon.I've been listening to the radio this morning, it's all been about Halloween. It struck me how different the 'celebrations' are from my childhood. We kids went out guising in the dark with a parent lingering close by. We had to recite a poem or sing to get a reward, mostly apples, home-made toffee apples and monkey nuts. My beloved DM used to buy a whole box of Cox's apples from the greengrocer, I can remember that tissue paper which covered some of the fruit to stop any bad bits spreading. There were Halloween parties when we had to 'dook ' for the apples - a large kitchen basin filled with water with the apples floating in it. Trying to catch and bite into one was a very wet game, such fun.The wind is rising and it's bringing rain. I'll set the fire again.Hugs to our poorlies, I hope that you all start to feel better soon. Happy Monday to all.11

Good morning, it's damp but not cold I don't think it is anyway.Sorry you've not been well TA, hope you feel better soon. Do Co**on Traders or E**nburgh Woollen Mill have fleece pyjamas? their stuff is usually good quality. We used to go out on Hallowe'en with a lighted turnip. I wouldn't have dreamt of letting my children go out knocking on doors carrying something containing a naked flame, but we did it. I lived in a small colliery village in East Durham, where everyone knew you. (not an advantage sometimes, if you were knocking on doors and running away as we did sometimes) Happy days.Dp1, covid is hanging on isn't it, sorry to hear you're not well.We took dgs out yesterday, he loves trains, and there's a branch of the York Railway Museum about 15 -16 miles away, we took him there, then for lunch at that place with the 3 golden arcs, which he considers to be fine dining. We came back here and we made some little cakes which is a favourite occupation at the moment. He uses liberal amounts of food colouring so takes home bright orange cakes with brilliant green icing..However, it was nice to see him, he's at school now, so we don't see him as often. Not a lot happening today, just "stuff" as my daughter says.Thinking of our poorlies - Snoozer, you seem to be going through the mill at the moment, Nelski, thinking of you as well, and anyone else who is not well or fed up.Take care folks12

Morning all
Ever since the clocks changed I seem to have been getting up early; pretty sure it won't last.
Yesterday we went shopping to get a birthday present for DS but I ended up having to order it online as the shop had sold out of his size. He's booked us all in for a pub lunch later in the month so that should be fun.
I've also been doing a lot of sewing over the weekend and last night the base of my right thumb was aching. It's still a bit sore this morning and I'll have to be careful as I have someone coming round this afternoon to play tunes so I need a functioning thumb. DH is meeting some friends for a pub lunch so I'll sort myself out a main meal for later.
I have a check up at the dentist this morning. Never my favourite thing so I'll just grin and bear it.
Hope everyone's day goes well.9 -

It's a lovely day on the Kent coast. I'm just about to hang some washing out. Off to do one of my cleaning jobs in a bit. I have my monthly visit to the chiropractor after. I'll try and have a kip this afternoon as i'm working tonight. Dinner tonight will either carbonara made with leftover gammon or something from the freezer.
Have a good day all 😊10 -

Looks to be a nice day ahead and still very mild which is strange ! we lit the log burner last night too Gers and were far too hotit does help to dry the washing though !
Two clients coming today one lady is new although I know her from my old work, she is very high energy and the other lady has mobility issues so I am not sure the partnership will work but we will see, I shall trial it for a couple of weeks and see how it goes, I think today we will have a walk along the prom and maybe stop for a hot drink and then do some baking and crafts at home.
Dinner tonight is roast as I cooked double yesterday so a nice easy dinner, the dw has been emptied and I will have a quick tidy round before my guests get here.
Have good days all xxx

I'm backishStill suffering with painful hands and feet but I figure typing is good exercise so posts may be short but I'll give it a go. Just call me sausage fingers. I have been reading along so I'm relatively up to date. Thank you again for the lovely ones on here who have sent healing vibes you will go to heaven for sure
Sorry to read there's some poorly people almost us. Snoozer and DP1 hope life improves this week.
Im a bit of a halloween curmudgeon here. So tend to lock down lights off and ignore it. I don't mind the real little one who make tons of effort to dress up and are happy with a small bit of chocolate its the ones who turn up later and want money. Like Gers when I was a kid Dad used to set up apple bobbing in the garage just for the family. We didn't go round houses as my dad considered it begging. Seems its a pretty commercial affair now.
Off to see mum this morning. They think she has a UTI again so poor love will be feeling pretty low. She's supposed to go on a trip to Blackpool tomorrow but I doubt she will go now.
I'll love you and leave you now and will drag the sausages out tomorrow hopefully
