Nominated accounts

Hi
Do everyone use one nominated account to fund their different fixed term accounts,

At the moment i have a sainsburys fixed with lloyds as the nominated account,
I'm now moving money from lloyds to ford flexi with lloyds nominated while i'm waiting
to see what happens with next months fixes, but then i would have to use ford as my nominated
unless i move my money back to lloyds and if next month theres a better flexi rate somewhere i would have to move it from
ford to lloyds to the new one,i'm getting confused just thinking about it.

Why not use your current account?
  • I only ever transfer savings via my current account.  It's the only nominated account I use, and whenever transferring between different savings, I still go through my current account.  It makes keeping track much easier in my view.

AFAIK, the nominated account must be a current account so you couldn't use your  Ford savings account as your nominated account.

I always use the same current account whenever I need a nominated account.

I use one hub account for everything, one disadvantage is you can get caught on daily sending limits and triggering security locks when moving large amounts to a new account.

But I still think its better long term to do it this way, or you will never keep track. My Santander esaver has become my new hub
