@lincroft1710 thanks, yes we have building regs completion cert. Everything has been down by the book, it seems.
Agree £600k is a lot. We're going to try and negotiate it down, but we're waring of losing it as it's hard to find that much space and in that location, nr to station.

I owned 3 non-standard construction terraced houses in Highlands of Scotland. Problems getting insurance, various minor niggles but otherwise ok.
No complaints ('sfunny, some people seem to like taking opposite viewpoint...).
