Applying for any product at the Nationwide has become like a job interview for MI6. It's got a bit ridiculous. Info overkill. All feels very passive-aggressive.
OH once went into a branch to open a current account for himself - we already had the current account with a good balance, they started on all the questions about numbers of children, marital status , outgoings etc - he walked out and left them to it

Was just hoping that this nonsense had stopped and if you had aan account with them you could open another without the third degree.

So they didn't really want an account then.

didn't want nosey teenager asking personal questions - worked for years in situations where confidentiality was everything, and infomation privileged and  should only be asked for if really needed and not given unless necessary. Doesn't have internet at all.

He went to RBS where we have a joint account and they opened a personal account for him in  5 minutes

Was just trying to open this savings account but OH said "they'll want inside leg measurements again" ... seems he was right
