Very poor info about transactions on Visa cards

Perhaps the TSB format thing is a hangover from the days when it was with Lloyds? As in they copied the statement format (bearing in mind they used to operate as Lloyds TSB and at one point shared the same platform, but eventually got partitioned off and then migrated infamously to a new system).

I used to remember on Lloyds statements they didn't show much information other than merchant name, the date it debited the account (and not transaction date), 4 digits of the card it came from and the amount. That was it, unless it was a foreign transaction.

Also, bear in mind the data fields are sometimes wrongly populated by the merchant and so appears incorrectly on people's statements.

There's a local M&S near me that I shop at and the merchant configuration on the self scan tills is misconfigured, as rather than showing as Marks & Spencer on the statement it shows the actual location twice, no indication that it's M&S.

Never happens to me with the same card at a different location, or same branch but using a manned till.

The other thing about Costa Coffee is that some of its branches are franchised, so it may not always show up as Costa Coffee, rather the legal name of whatever the franchisee chose for their Ltd company.
