Hi all. Just a general enquiry. My daughter recently started at University but has had huge problems trying to open a Santander student account. She’s been trying to sort things for a few weeks and is going round in circles .Has anyone else had issues with Santander? She’s now thinking she’ll go with Nationwide. Hoping they will be better

My niece was just yesterday telling me a similar story, but was around extra documents /evidence she had to bring into a branch.Seabeeeze said:Hi all. Just a general enquiry. I remember in the late 1990’s / early 2000’s NatWest had branches in many Universities/colleges (at least in London) and it was fairly easy to open a student account with them.0 -
Thanks - that’s interesting, yes she was asked to provide extra documentation which she sent off but then didn’t hear anything. I believe their system wasn’t recognising UCAS acceptance. She’s tried again since starting Uni but it’s still an issue. She checked things with UCAS and it didn’t seem to be a problem their end. At the beginning of it all Santander did tell her there was a problem with their system, but, for her, the issue has persisted. She’s given up now.0

Has she put in a formal complaint?0
