sorry. the earlier post was about someone phoning up to sort the problem for there parents so my post was replying with that in mind. obviously most pensioners are perfectly capable of sorting there own bills and things out (at least as well as any of us are!). but i would still say that anyone who gets in a mess should be treated sympathetically. theres been so much and rapid change that i think a lot of people who wold normally have no problems coping are going to struggle to predict everything over the next year or longer.t0rt0ise said:In actual fact only the pensioners usual 200 or 300 pounds is a winter fuel payment. The extra 300 pounds is a cost of living payment and is meant to be spent on whatever is necessary. So those saying it is all meant to be spent on fuel are wrong. And that doesn't even take into account the fact that becoming a pensioner doesn't immediately remove all one's common sense and make a person unable to cope with their finances, much as many here would have us believe.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.2
